As an electronics hobbyist I don't get through vast quantities of hookup wire and normally buy 10m reels through Amazon. For this size (26AWG) they come in at ~£0.35 per metre so these 100m reels at ~£0.10 per metre are a significantly better buy, at least for the colours (black/red) I use the most.
I did (because of the price) wonder if these were actually solid copper and tested by measuring the density of the core which came out at ~8500 kg/m^3. Close enough to copper (8940 kg/m^3) and a long way from aluminium (2712 kg/m^3), sometimes used for cheap wire.
